I feel the same way as your first paragraph! But awww, the US team are so cute and so lovable. Does soccer have smaller international competitions during the off years? D: I want more USMNT!

I know I really got so attached to US team in a way that I didnt in 2006's world cup and Landon looked so sad ;_; poor baby! and Gomez! I was rooting for Gomez, that was his first WC! Oh well babes, there's always Rio! (where the next WC will be set :Dv)

and There absolutely is soccer during the year! (ever year I think) and I think there is a european cup that is like every 2 years or less? I dont remember. I know that there is Serie A which is various Italian clubs competing against each other (like AC Milan), and La Liga which is various spanish clubs competing against each other (really famous ones like Real Madrid and FC barcelona can be found here) and the Premiere league (which is english clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal) and the MLS (which american soccer teams, like LA galaxy :D) all go on during the year. What I cant tell you is when. I know the MLS season is usually April-November. and I am pretty sure ESPN or ESPN2 airs those games.

However for Serie A and La Liga and Premiere League, ESPN doesnt air it.
At least I have never seen it on any of the ESPN channels. I know Serie A and La Liga are on the Fox Soccer Channel. But idk about the Premiere League. Also there are loads of fascinating South American leagues that dont get much (if any) play on FSC but can be found on GOLtv.
Unfortunately as an american I cant usually follow most of the non american leagues/games because they just arent aired on ESPN or other available sports channels and if you are American too you will probably have trouble as well. I say if you have the money you should get FSC or GOltv (better yet, BOTH) because they both have really cool shows that go into the history of Football and international rivalries.
I dont know if OnDemand (assuming you have digital cable or some other system that uses OnDemand) have stuff like big league games or the European Cup (which as far as I know does not involve any south american, african or asian teams though I know there is also an Asian cup and probably an African cup but I have no idea when or where they take place or what channels would carry them if any. I am also 98% positive there is a South American cup and if so it's definitely gonna be on GOLtv. This makes me wonder who Mexico would play against normally though, they arent south american and arent part of the euro leagues or the MLS...huh) and yeah basically that's all I got. I hope it was helpful? You might wanna look up some europeans or (just google) for more info lol.

Oh, I know there's soccer during the year! I was wondering about international, country vs country competitions. Like how there's a hockey world championship even though the Stanley Cup is really the big thing. So I have to wait 4 years to see another Team USA?

I totally will track down what teams the players are on normally though so I can follow them! And I will definitely poke around online more and look into GOLtv and FSC and stuff! I don't know if I can afford it though. . .

Thank you for the intro! :D

This is so late and sorry for all the babble in my previous comment. I just wasnt sure what you needed to know and plus I kind of wanted to write that all out for my own referance as well XD
That said I have some more info and you may know this already but apparently the US and Brazil national teams will be having a friendly match in New Jersey on August 10th :D Gah I'd love to go but I dunno that I can afford at this point (I'm on the east coast even! but not in New England area ;_; so the price of tickets, airfare, hotel fare....yikes D:) but perhaps you are closer and more monetarily lucky than I :D more info about the venue and ticket purchasing can be found here: http://www.selectaticket.com/ResultTicket.aspx?evtid=1388887&event=US+Mens+Soccer+vs.+Brazil

I hope since it involves the US NT that ESPN will air it cause I really wanna see the game. I dont really care about the MLS itself so much :( (or at all)
Also have you seen these adorable spanish commercials that Landon Donovan did?
