Oh journal, I have neglected you horribly these days havent I? D:

Well anyway so what have I been up to? Not much exactly. But alot of crazy things have happened, well for me they are big things lol.

Thing #1. Yesterday my mom, sister and I did some bonding and I ended up doing some arab style dancing which i havent done in front of anybody (family or otherwise) since I was like 8. It doesnt sound like a big deal but for me as someone who loved to dance and show off in the past, being able to sort of express that aspect of myself again after such a long time being way too nervous and inhibited to dance either around family or friends, this was a nice thing for me. Plus the look on my mom's face when she realized I could actually dance well and proper after all this time pretending like couldnt, was pretty funny. and My sis and I got to havea dance off! and Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE competing with people. Cause I like winning <3 Course since my mom was judging we both tied. -_- but still lots of fun and I got to feel like a winner anyway heh.

Thing#2. Speaking of ties. How about that World Cup huh? I love the world cup, I dont usually either find the time, patience or channels to watch soccer/football usually but I always enjoy watching the cup. But man the first few matches of the WC were hella underwhelming this year! That said, the competition really seems to be heating up now, and I cant believe I still got a horse in this race myself. and By that i mean, USA! I am so amazed at that come back they pulled in their match with slovenia, and I was so writing them off and thinking "this is why no one in USA watching soccer cause our team sucks!" and then they do THAT! and THAT! and I am like "GOOOOOOAAL!" like those crazy latin announcers on Univision lol. My mouth dropped and I wanted to scream after that ref disallowed the third goal though! WHAAAAT >( That said, I really wish ESPN would SHUT UP about it. Like seriously, they are not revealing any new info aand just keep analyzing it to death and saying the same shit over and over and gah -_-
Otherwise I've been enjoying ESPN's coverage so far, and the mix of commentaters from different european countries helps alot, since they contribute alot to the analysis and other things. and Plus, one of the UK commentaters has a sexy northern accent <3
Anyway other times I am rooting for and hope to see succeed in this WC: Argentina, Mexico, Brazil (cause I always do root for them but honestly they havent been doing their best so far), Ghana, and Germany since I was fairly impressed by their first game, although that second one, whoo boy D:. This really seems like a cup where teams that usually didnt go very far will do well. I hope it is, with the alot of the big favorite (mainly european) teams doing poorly or mediocre so far, it makes me feel like teams like Mexico, USA and Ghana (who fucked up their last game, COME ON GHANA GET IT TOGETHER!) have a chance of going the distance, if not winning the cup altogether (which lets be honest, is highly unlikely, but girl can dream!).

Thing#3. I saw Toy Story 3! It was AMAZING as far as I am concerned. It's too early for me to tell if I love it the most out of the franchise but I think it was definitely the most exciting one of all. Not to mention the most visually stunning and beautiful. I loved the theme of friendship that was constant throughout and also the themes of growing up, letting go and moving on. As someone who has struggled in the past with these very things, it resonated strongly with me. The best part though of the film was the middle section which was a hilarious excellent parody of and homage to prison breakout films. Well played Pixar writers, well played. I am sorry I ever doubted that this film would be awesome! I confess though, I am still hella skeptical about Cars 2, even though the premise does sound kind of awesome (apparently lightning mcqueen goes around the world, I love around the world stories! :D) I am also even more annoyed that I wont see any pixar original films until 2012. So Cars 2 better be freaking amazing! >(

Also as is customary pixar played an original short film before the actual film. I must say I dont think I liked this one as well as Presto 2 years ago (which they played before WALL-E) or Partly Cloudy which they played before UP last year. That said, I still liked it! and The animation was stunning, and a very creative and unique visual style was used for this particular short that impressed me even if the story itself didnt (but it was cute nonetheless).

That's pretty much been my summer so far. I mean aside from doing a bit of writing, but I'll be honest, the process is pretty slow going so far. D:
In other news though, today is my birthday! I am 22 now. Yay! Hopefully today I will get a cake from a nice bakery (instead of the grocery store bakery which is always kind of...blah) Mmmm cake. (and I just realized Leverage S3 premieres tonight! BEST BDAY GIFT EVER <33)

#1: Sorry to hear that you are suffering from mood swings and anxiety. But obviously good news that you have decided yourself to do something about it. Hope you'll be able to make progress.
I sometimes write lists of things I have/want to do. Certainly no cure-all but it at least partially helps me getting things done. Deleting things from the list is very therapeutic. :)

#2: That would be something like belly dancing? Sounds ... exciting. ;) Assuming that #1 might have partly something to do with self-esteem difficulties, this might help with that too.

#3: Certainly one of the craziest tournaments in recent memory, thanks to some pretty bad performances by European favourites against resilient underdogs. And referees handing out cards like free candy. I might be writing a few words about the events in the coming days myself.
As for you rooting for Germany and Ghana. That's nice, but you'll probably face a difficult, highlander-like choice in the next game. :)

#4: I hesitate to mention it, but besides Cars 2 there are also plans for Monsters Inc. 2. I guess it was inevitable after Disney swallowed Pixar but it still puts a damper on my enthusiasm for Pixar.

So, how did the cake turn out? Anything left? :)

1. Yeah I've had that stuff for a while like nearly a decade but I just didnt wanna see anybody cause I didnt want to feel like a crazy person and since it wasnt like I was doing things like cutting myself or hanging off the edge of high buildings or bursting into tears randomly in public (or at home) so I assumed that it wasnt that bad and I am actually fine. Which was not the case lol. and I love lists! I make them all the time. I had to make one last year to ensure I got schoolwork done in a timely manner.

2. XD sorry to burst your bubble dude but nope. Not really belly dancing, similar movements yes but there is no exposed bellies in this house, we are a muslim family you see. lol. So the dancing only takes place at ladies only parties when in public. Though for me it's just a private joy, I like doing it alone. But showing off to my mom and sis was fun too :D

3. I know I love it! I like all these upsets and underdogs coming out on top. It's making what started out as a dull tournament very exciting. and Damn, Germany is playing Ghana next? D: I had no idea XD and Seriously giving out cards like free candy is RIGHT, I never seen so many cards given out in one tournament before! and Some of them are right bullshit! Ah well, human error makes the game more interesting right FIFA? -_- Anyway, looks like I'm rooting for Ghana in that upcoming game then, I just love an underdog, plus it'd be kinda sad if not a single african nation made it to the round of 16 D:

4. I actually found out about that recently and I was like -_-. Honestly I am less mad about more sequels as I am to there being more sequels for a film I feel really doesnt need a sequel but oh well. I heard actually that pixar has an agreement that they have to make at least one new sequel each year. Which is upsetting, I know they are brilliant but it's their originality that is a big part of that, and while the sequels may be good, even great, it's still gonna be stifling a big part of their creativity as far as I'm concerned. stupid disney -_- (besides it'll only be a matter of time now before they make a dud. ;_;)

Oops, sorry, forgot about that. :) Though even if I had remembered I probably wouldn't automatically have assumed that some belly dancing amongst family members would be out of the question.

Anyway, looks like I'm rooting for Ghana in that upcoming game then, I just love an underdog ...
That's okay. I will still leave comments in your journal. ;)

It gets increasingly likely. But I don't think it would be a problem. And I don't count the sequels, only the originals. To me the sequels are from Disney, the originals from Pixar.
