It's Decorative Gourd Season Motherfuckers!

This a random post full of randomness cause Tai had a very painful and shitty day today (nutshell version: a metal door sliced through the top of my toe, practically ripping off the nail and I had to limp around campus all day like a moron) and so did not finish typing up her proper post and instead decided to blog about a bunch of random but awesome videos she watched and do a meme instead.

1) Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands [fannish etc.] that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life. [Mine is edited for things with large casts of characters.]
2) Have your f-list guess your favourite character/member from each item.
3) When someone guesses correctly, strikethrough the item and put the name of your favorite character next to it.

As you can all see I've recently gotten into It's Always Sunny, I'll go into detail about that in the next post. Since I know I have a diverse flist I threw out a random mix of older and newer fandoms so everyone can participate.

1. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia acidpenguin46 got it right. It's the crazy and unfortunate Charlie. I just cant help but adore him <3
2. Community (I love them all but there is two that I love a little more than the others, guess one or both!) wingstodust got this one! Britta and Abed :)
3. Leverage (I love everyone, especially the 3 kids but only one has my heart) darkeyedwolf said it. It's quirky crazy awesome Parker!
4. Skins (I have two faves for skins gen 1 and and one for skins gen 2) acidpenguin46 got them both! For Gen it's Chris and Cassie and for Gen 2 it's JJ.
5. True Blood (no it's not eric) darkeyedwolf guessed it. It's Lafeyette <3
6. Ashes to Ashes (this one might be a little tougher than LOM but still relatively easy)acidpenguin46 guessed this one. Shaz
7. Life on Mars (there's really only two answers for this, sam or gene. the fun part is guessing which one is my favorite ;D ) acidpenguin46 go it. It's Sam :)
8. The Mentalist (this one isnt an obvious answer)
9. Modern Family (this one really makes the show for me)
10. Avatar: the last airbender (so many great characters, but only one favorite)
11. Lost (I used to love this show. keep in mind when guessing that I havent seen S4-5) darkeyedwolf got it! It's Sawyer. and extra points to anyone and sibarita got my second fave. the lovely Sun
12. Discworld Series (I'll be generous. No it's not Death. Although I am very fond of him)
13. Lord of the Rings (there are again two you could guess and get the answer right) kipani_mariko Mari got em both! cause she's a cheater. Aragorn & Eowyn.
14. TOKIO (I suspect most wont even know what this is) kipani_mariko got it right. It's Taichi! adorable little pixie that he is.
15. Harry Potter (an old obsession but my love for this character remains) bananachipu said it. Luna!
16. Samurai Champloo (one of my fave animes of all time) darkeyedwolf got this one too. It's Jin!
17. The Goonies (gotta love the classics) sibarita got it! it's Mouth. He's probably the closest of the bunch to how I was as a kid.
18. One Piece (maybe not that easy)bananachipu got it right off. It's Zoro.
19. Fruits Basket (back when I read this I liked most of the characters but one in particular resonated with me the most) kipani_mariko got it too. It's Rin.
20. Xmen comics (despite so many diff incarnations in this series, my favorite has remained the same)bananachipu got it! It's Rogue :D

I'm sure everyone and their mother has seen this already but I dont care. It's still awesome. I only wish they hadnt made one of the sharpest female characters of all time (Elizabeth) into a weepy shrill creature. It's for humorous purposes I know but I would have laughed alot harder if Elizabeth decided on her own to drop Darcy's poncy severe ass, jump into the quattro with Gene and ride off into the regency sunset. Still the image of Gene trying to enforce laws in his usual way in the idyllic fields of regency england, and then shooting Darcy is pretty freakin hilarious I must say. and good to know that Jon Culshaw is as fantastic at his impressions as ever. I actually miss seeing him in clips imitating people. I havent seen him in anything for a while. (I really hope he does more skits where he plays Gene. Really considering how popular the character is, what took him so long!?)

I think this is possibly one of the coolest things I've ever seen and I want everyone to see it too. The universe is beautiful. I had a big fascination with planets and space as a kid. A part of me still does but the rest moved on to more earthly interests. Still taking astrology next year though!

I also took the time today to alter my layout. Lovely katie mcgrath is in the header. It's not perfect I'm still trying to figure out how to color the entire top bar and I dont like the green for the entry titles. Otherwise though it's lookin good I'd say.

This is so sad when I didnt get to guess most of yours. Mari I wanted to take a picture of my mutilated toe and show it to you but sadly I could not find my camera. So just try to imagine it. I've been enjoying the looks of horror on the faces of everyone I've told about my toe (in graphic detail) this is my idea of healing hehehe.

Anyway the ones you guessed are both right. and Shit you know me well. Yes it was Rin XD I liked her alot even though she had a relatively small role. But I liked her volatile anti social attitude as it reminded me of myself abit only she was prettier and had a cool boyfriend. (I totally shipped her and haru like mad back in the day)

Naw it's ok! We cant all be as pop culturally aware as I...lol but in all seriousness. I appreciate your comment all the same :) and I think it actually DID get infected since it's been hurting like a motherfucker lately....but anyway. Hopefully it's nothing a good anti fugal and some hot water cant fix.

The goonies was a great film. I only vaguely remember names myself but such is the wonders of imdb, I looked up their names just before I finished posting this. I used to do pretend adventures all the time as a kid. they are supar fun.

Yeah I should have said from the outset that the thing that usually makes me pick a character as as favorite is how strongly i can relate with them. cause in things I LOVE, i tend to adore most of the charas anyway. so there has to be some distinguishing factor.

Yes Parker! I loooove her. and she does remind me of me sometimes. Now if only I was a cute blonde who could steal things and get away with it.

Lafeyette is right :) He's my favorite, he's the most distinct and fascinating to me. though I dont relate strongly with anyone true blood for the record XD

Awww Sokka, he's a doll isnt he? But it's not him. I wish it was, it would mean I'm funny and a good planner. I'm neither lol. It's another guy. I have confidence you will guess him on the third try XD

He's definitely the sort of guy I like XD (though this is an ever expanding list) but perhaps only in the world of fiction.

Hell yeah, another Always Sunny convert *fistbumps* How can you not adore something which is endearingly wrong in every conceivable way? As for the meme:

1) I'm going to take a stab and say Charlie, because out of all of them, he seems like the one who could come across as endearing.
4/5) I'll say Gene for both of them, although it may be Alex for A2A.

And I would try to guess for Discworld, but there are just too many characters to choose from.

I love that show. LOVE IT. I dont know why it took me so long to watch it! Well actually I saw a promo for it back in 2007 and wanted to watch it but I didnt have FX :( I do now though. I actually ordered the seasons 1-4 box set off amazon the other day. It was on sale and I wanted to see all the eps and then rewatch them when I was feeling blue or bored.

1) Yes it's Charlie! you do have a point though, it would be hard to find most of them endearing since they are all super a holes. except charlie who CAN be a jerk but is mostly just really insane. Personally I find him both heartbreakingly unfortunate at times and hilariously bizarre at other times. It's hard not to love Charlie really.

4/5) negative my friend. my fave in LOM wasnt Gene. I found him an amazing character but very hard to like as a person. and my fave in A2A surprisingly is neither Alex nor Gene (though I like both alot, particularly Alex)

Ohhh take a crack at Skins. I suspect since we discussed it once your the only one who has a real shot at it. lol

And I didn't even notice that you had listed Skins! For Gen 2, I'd say JJ, and as for Gen 1... *ponders* Sid and either Chris or Cassie.

Sorry for the late response! Yesterday was very hectic for me.

Yes it was Sam :) Gene was a fascinating character but ultimately it was Sam who was endearing to me and so relatable. It's funny cause I think this kind of character normally had the potential to be really irritating and dull but the way Simm played him was just amazing and lended so much intensity and humanity to him.

A2A IS Shaz! Good guess. I really adore Shaz. Of course Alex and Gene are awesome but I'd love to befriend Shaz. and I love her hairstyles lol.

Wrong about Sid (close though) but since you said their names I'll give it to you. My Gen1 favorites were Chris and Cassie. and You were right on target for Gen 2. It's JJ :D
