Merlin 202: Loved it and I dont give a shit what fandom is saying. I'm just going to start ignoring merlin fandom like I do true blood fandom. Cause I can see already it's just gonna be waves of annoying bitching every week and you know what? I can do without it. One thing I will say is, the way the writers have consistently failed to actually give Gwen any significant characterization is fucked up and I'm going to give them until the end of this season to change that before I start to reconsider how much I like this show. Cause I'll be honest, I like arthur and merlin but I'm watching for the girls at this point.
Anyway now why did I love it? The premiere was meh to me but this was better. For one we saw arthur get just a bit more self aware, not much though, we saw the seeds of arthur/gwen finally sown. Merlin finally lost his shit at being treated like crap all the time. Gwen got to have more than five lines. Someone finally told Arthur in plain words what a dick he is. and the villain of the week actually came off as scary and threatening this time. I'm sad we've seen the last of him.
But BEST OF ALL:

I laughed so hard I turned blue. It's doubly funny when you factor in that Bradley James cant cook to save his life either. Bless whoever came up with the plot development of Arthur attempting to cook, I'm just sorry we didnt actually see him do anything. Cant wait to see Morgana's ep next week though! I was sad she wasnt in the ep more but I can forgive it if it means next week it's all about her.
The Mentalist 201: quite an opener here. the tone is a bit darker now and I cant decide if I like that or not yet. I do know that Simon Baker's smile still makes me melt into a puddle of goo every time. *sigh* I love how we're gonna have a jane vs bosco thing this season. bosco is jane's polar opposite and a worthy opponent and I LOVE IT. I love it also that he has remaining feelings for lisbon and her closeness to jane will irk him. Even better jane will be jealous cause lisbon had a past with bosco. I know I should not want this to be a big part of the show but I'll be honest, I could not give less of shit about 90% of the cases of the week we get on this show. I watch for the characters and I love that bruno heller tries to get in important character bits into each episode. So yeah I hope we see lots of character stuff in this season's mentalist since I felt like it was sparse in S1, present definitely but much more so near the end and not so much at the beginning. I also have decided that I am in love with Kimball Cho. He is just such a fly motherfucker I can deny it no longer. I always loved him and his dry humor and deadpan expressions but S2's premiere just cemented the love for good now. I really want this season to have a Cho centric ep. I NEED IT TO HAVE ONE. *crosses fingers, toes and arms*
Glee 04: This show is seriously blowing my mind with how good it's getting. I mean Quin pregnant? by Puck? Except she told Finn it's His? Heck yes! Quin/Puck is totally the new Chuck/Blair y'all. and Will's wife Scary Terri (as I have now dubbed her) has reached new heights of crazy and wants Quin's baby. and Sue actually said something INSPIRING in the middle of one of her crazy tirades. ALSO football players dancing to beyonce! Superfab Kurt can kick like a pro! Puck joins glee club! I LOVE THIS SHOW.
Psych 4x07: So so so good. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face pysch <3 ILU to bits. I just, I love how every week I feel like this is the best ep of the season. and this week is no different. That Boyz II men acapella version of the psych theme song was the best thing ever. I vote for it to replace the original theme..
I LOVED seeing Kenan Thompson being funny on my tv again. So nostalgic, I remember his All That and Kenan & Kel show days *sigh* Jaleel white is the urkel kid and I had NO IDEA until someone on TWOP's msg boards mentioned it. Holy crap he looks different (and way better) nowThey were both amazing guest stars and this ep was just full of great 80's referances, particularly musical ones. and and GUS centric plotline! Shawn/Gus bonding moments! I cant decide what the best line was. Henry at the beginning saying computers and "LA Law" was just a fad. or this line that Gus uttered after Shawn worried about Gus finally getting fed up with him like he did his old college buddies: "Shawn, dont you realize that if none of the stupid, selfish, reckless stunts you've pulled in the last 4 years could have done it then it's probably not gonna happen?" say it with me now. AWWWW. That's is love yo, when someone knows what a dick you are, and how much trouble you constantly get them into, but still sticks with you anyway.
Still maybe the best line of the ep was shawn saying to gus "I wish I'd known you when your black." LOOOOOOOOOOL. This ep was so great that none of the stuff I just said even tips the iceberg of it's awesomeness but I already gushed about it on the TWOP boards. I am feeling frustarted lately though, people are being increasingly negative about this show and I know by now I should no better and not expect any more from fandom, especially on TWOP but I mean sometimes you gonna gush with people ya know? But people always find shit to bitch about and it's such a light fun joyful show that I fail to understand how people can be SO venemous about it sometimes. It's a little shocking. There's a huge wave of people who seem to utterly dislike shawn and I am deeply perplexed as to why. I mean the guy is flawed but that's always been the point, everyone on the show recognizes his obnoxiousness and he's rarely praised for it. What he is praised for is his skills, which are good and why we the audience root for him and why his friend always sticks with him no matter what, is because Shawn for all his faults has a good heart and a sense of justice. He genuinely cares about getting the bad guys, and about the people around him even if he rarely sincerely shows this. I mean lassiter was mean to him for ages but he helped him every time he was ever in trouble (I can think of at least four instances) even though lassiter has rarely directly helped shawn or been outwardly warm to him, but that is who lassiter is and I think shawn is cool with that and is rarely petty or holds grudges. He's a big hearted person IMO even if he can be a big child. But god what is the fun in a protaganist who never does anything wrong? People would then bitch he's boring or perfect. I am so sick of fandom lately tbh that I wonder if I should apply the rules I live by in real life to my time on the internet which is "avoid everyone". Well the hell with them anyway. I am gonna enjoy my shows dammit, no matter who tries to rain on my parade.
House 601: I have not watched this show since 2004, and I do know most of what's going on at the moment though, since I kept tabs on House/Cuddy/Wilson over the years (a ship(s?) I have a big soft spot for) I watched this premiere monday on a whim more than anything but wow, that shit was good. It had plenty of flaws and moments that pushed even MY suspension of disbelief (which lemme tell you people I have a high threshold for that stuff so it takes alot before I start going "WTF?") but I loved it all the same. They actually let this very flawed unhappy cynical man have some GROWTH and learn that hey maybe everyone doesnt totally suck, without making into a sap fest or changing who he really is. It also had some amazing supporting characters, I mean OMG Andre Braugher how awesome were you man? I'm so sorry I havent watched you in The Wire yet. AND THEY USED A RADIOHEAD SONG IN THE COLD OPEN. EEEEE! Seriously good stuff. and the more I hear about this season the moreI wanna try to watch it even though I know it's gonna go back to being a medical procedural next week and I hate medical shows and I hate procedurals so I dont know how that's gonna go but we'll see.
Gossip girl 302: I liked this alot more than the premiere. Blair got her ass owned. Georgina was amazingly sympathetic for someone who is borderline insane and Dan was completely likeable for at least a half hour. Also the chuck/blair moment at the end was really adorable and felt less forced and cheesy than last week's. that's actually all I have to say about this ep. I think I forgot most of it by the time I started writing this entry lol.

Date: 2009-09-29 12:08 am (UTC)My friend burned the first two episodes of Gossip Girl for me and I <3 her! I agree the second episode was a lot better, but I'm not sure where to stand based on Georgina's recent behavior.
I'm amused that Blair and Chuck do the role-playing thing while Blair never did that with previous boyfriends. But I did like the customer/waiter bit, hah. That was in the first episode, yes? And I was preoccupied with Blair's hair at the end of the second episode- the braid. If my hair were longer, I'd be trying that out. But for now, I'll wear my headbands.
