Where's it all leading?

sisterjuneSo I just saw the A2A finale. To sum up my reaction in a word: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHWTFNOOOYOUCANTLEAVEITTHEREWOIAJUOWFUOIOWJW
That's the nutshell version.
Here's the longsemi-coherent version: Well christ on a cracker that was INTENSE, I was shrieking at my tv so many times. Especially during the fight between alex and gene in his office, i was like OMG NOOOO. BELIEVE HER! SHE'S TELLING THE TRUUUTH. THIS IS SO HORRIBLE ;_; Gene kind of broke my heart for a sec with his pleas for honesty from alex. and Alex being honest and just sounding raving and crazy but worse than him thinking she's nuts he thought she was a cold lying bitch. I was like OMG when he brought up her daughter like that. and then the slap of doom! and SHAZ WITH THE GUN AND FUNKY WEDDING DRESS. "You're NICKED" ILU shaz ;_;
This was really a shippy episode, which made me happy I wont lie. I mean Alex only saying Gene's name in his sleep? :O
Something a few smart peeps on the comm pointed out: What is the significance of the Rainbow Hearts? Wizard of Oz ref? I wont try to think about it too hard though, I suck at theories. I'll leave it to the smart people. Jeanette was pure evil and I kept wishing she would die or something, SHIP DESTROYER!
Summers was kind of a pitiful character in the end wasnt he? I like that he wasnt such a black&white villain, despite all the references for black and white, in the end the people of A2A are very gray. I think you can see this reflected chris and gene as well. I do wonder what will happen with alex and summer's body. Personally I dont care if nothing happens to her cause of it cause she DIDNT kill him and we've already gone through with the he "gene is doubting alex" story. So now I wanna see what the final images of the finale mean. and also I wonder how will gene react with alex now? I mean will he believe her? Or just cast the whole episode from his mind and go back to how things were when she wakes up back in 82? It's something to ponder. It's a terrible cliffhanger! So cruel to keep us all on tenterhooks for a whole YEAR. But at least it looks like the writers know what they are doing. Which is a relief. I really wonder how this will all tie up with LOM so far I'm not getting the bigger connection, and it's interesting that Alex brought up Sam again to gene to make her point. Gene must have suspected something was off with sam and simply never chose to dwell or ponder on it but now that she brought that up I wonder if he will really consider her words. I personally hope that confession of hers wont just be forgotten. I want to see Gene actually acknowledge that that conversation happened even if he's not ready to accept it as a truth yet. Even if he never does, it's cool if we see him at least thinking "what if it IS true?" to himself and questioning himself on it. Also loved how the surreal elements were ratcheted up in this ep! I always love all those creepy dream sequences and random cuts.
Also the beginning with Gene reading a children's book? HILARIOUS and creepy but hilarious. The penis joke? not so hilarious, more like really gross. At least it wasnt a real penis *shudders* and man was anyone else like "WOW" when Ray said with conviction that Alex wasnt bent? I was surprised! Ray really trusts and respects Alex now, a far cry from the start of the series and hell I wonder if he ever even warmed up to Sam that much. Speaking of Ray, I hope the "Ray is Gay" jokes never end. I wonder if we'll see him come out before the series ends for good, would certainly fill me with perverse joy if he does.
Line of the night? "You've just been QUATTRO'D!" in fact I would make it my new catchphrase, but I (regrettably) dont own a quattro XD.
Also is it just me, or is that roxy music song "While my heart is still beating" lyrics oddly relevant to Alex? I mean, just look:

Makes you think of Alex and her dilemma doesnt it? Or at least it makes ME think of her.
I normally dont blog about the Ashes episodes, but today I just had to. That was an amazing finale. Next year cant come fast enough!
