Yay dramas post time! I haven't done one of these in a while but that's because I found last season's dramas largely disappointing. I didn't feel inspired to pick up most of them and the ones I DID pick up were mostly a waste of my time. I honestly cant even remember the names of most of last season's dramas tbh :( I did however, really enjoy Ryuusei no Kizuna, it wasn't a GREAT drama but it was in my opinion a very enjoyable one. I do love most kudokan dramas though so maybe that helped? XD

Anyway this season in contrast has been AMAZING for me, I cannot remember watching this many dramas in a single season before and I haven't dropped any yet! I'm so surprised because I'm usually the type to rarely finish a drama series but so far all of these have proved to be very good viewing.

So my opinions on the dramas I'm watching so far!

Uta Onii (eps 1-3): I am enjoying this quite alot so far and I didnt think I would. I'll be honest now, I checked this drama out for Maru, and he's at least 50% of the reason I am still watching it now. That being said the other 50% is worth mentioning too. The rest of the fabulous cast and colorful characters and silly happenings all make this drama a worthwhile drama to me. I do love a light fun drama but I feel like most dramas that try to be light and fun just end up being really stupid instead. (examples: yasuken, yamataro, yuukan club and this season's mei-chan. apologies to anyone who liked these dramas. but they are not my cup of tea, even though yes I watched all of yc BUT ONLY CAUSE OF YOKO!) Anyway uta onii manages to balance that thin line i think between absurdity and reality well enough. I confess most of the scenes outside of the uta onii set and studio are not very interesting to me and I find the girlfriend of ohno's chara to be completely pointless as a character and I'm sick of seeing air time taken away from the other worthwhile characters, just so we can hear her preachy contrived monologues. I'm not a fan of the saccharine crap found in most dramas either, but so far uta onii has managed not to annoy me with the cutesy stuff or its "Morals of the Day". Maru it should be said is surprisingly natural as Mamoru, i do think it helps that mamoru has alot in common with maru, and chances are this is why he was chosen. But I'm glad that Maru is allowed a full range of emotions in this role and not just the default "smiley happy energetic silly" that is probably associated with him normally. I also really like the character of Urara (the sister of song) and the hilarious over the top antagonist of the story, Himuro. The manger lady is a nice breath of fresh as a mature capable woman and not your typical whiny nagging obnoxious jdrama heroine. Also the children that appear in the drama now and then are really precious and brighten it up for me <3 So basically my verdict so far on uta onii is a thumbs up.

Zeni Geba (eps 1-5): I think this might be my favorite drama of the season, which in a season full of strong dramas, is really saying something. This is a very picturesque drama but also a surprisingly minimal, simple and quiet one. Every scene is filled with an ominous and melancholic feeling. and whenever the protagonist appears, there is this distinct feeling of tension. a very uncomfortable feeling. you can say that this is an uncomfortable drama to watch. but also completely engrossing. the pace is perfect, never too slow or too fast. I think it's easily the most tightly plotted drama of the ones i'm watching and certainly the most gorgeous looking. It's amazing how it manages to seem so stunning yet most of the scenes filmed are of grim or gloomy things. Seriously the art direction is superb I cannot say this enough. There is not much dialogue in this drama and most scenes of emotion are more subtle than not but it's amazing how much can be conveyed without words in this drama. Even so, every now and then there are these scenes of fully charged emotion, where the protagonist really just loses his shit and it's amazingly powerful and unnerving to watch. It's also just fascinating from a philosophical standpoint as well. Just seeing how far a human will go sometimes to reach his goals, to realize his ambitions. The protagonist of this drama is no hero, he's barely even an anti hero. His heart is so twisted and black, you'll be amazed this is a jdrama even. But this is all what makes zeni geba SO fascinating to watch, part of it is just the amazingly dark nature of the story and also the novelty of seeing such a plot in a jdrama at all. Zeni geba really feels like it's part horror story and part morality play, but despite this it never goes full out grotesque or resorts to cheap thrills and there are no grand speeches about life or the world in this entire show. i wont say that never tries to a make point without being very obvious but i will say it so far has avoided beating the viewer over the head with it's point. Zeni geba is simply a great story, with some great acting from matsuken as well. I seriously cannot gush about this drama enough. Ok i'll stop but seriously, if anyone here is not watching zeni geba already START WATCHING IT! So for my favorite moment in this drama so far has been, that moment in ep 5 where Futaro stops for a moment and (finally) starts to question himself. "I'm not wrong, I'm not wrong" over and over like he cant even tell the difference anymore. it's really startling to watch. oh and also the moment where matsuken appears as that funny family's brother who also happens to be a spitting image of futaro. XD that was so hilarious!

Love Shuffle (eps 1-5): This drama would be my favorite after zeni geba. Ironic considering they are nearly opposites in tone and theme. This is a really fresh and current feeling drama. Lots of random pop cultural references appear, like abba's dancing queen, a mention of the classic story "the little prince" and even a half century old american baseball scandal, "say it aint so joe" ring a bell to anyone? Even better you get an Earth, Wind & Fire song as the theme song. HELL YES, i'll take that over jpop idols ANY DAMN DAY! *ahem* but aside from the fact that the writers are either hipsters or culture junkies, this is definitely a different kind of drama. But just reading the premise for it would probably tell you that. There is alot of dialogue in LS and it's pretty smart and funny dialogue, the kind that i've gotten used to seeing in some american and british dramas but never thought i'd see in a jdrama! In fact LS's strength is it's cast and dialogue. something the writers must clearly have been aware of because the drama centers heavily on the characters and their interactions. Seeing all kinds of diverse character interactions is part of why I like this drama so much and even I cant help but be sucked up into the "who will end up with who" speculations that I normally ignore in most love triangle dramas. Though LS is more like a love hexagon than a triangle it doesnt let romantic squabbles and melodrama take over the entire show, or most of it in fact. LS is a surprisingly thoughtful drama that actually poses an interesting question "Is it true that there is only one person for every one? is there such a thing as a destined partner?". While the writers might have their own answer to this question (though to their credit I've so far watched six episodes and I cant tell what their opinion on this really is yet, so kudos to them for not beating us over the head with this point so far) we the viewers can always come up with our own conclusions regardless of how the drama chooses to end. It is nice to see a drama trying to dig beneath the surface of human relationships. Friendships, marriage, suicide, and even bisexuality all have a place in this drama and perhaps the writers have a point to make about each. Even if they dont I'm enjoying the ride so far and the fact that most of the plot twists and happenings seem to have a point to them rather than just being there for edginess or drama. Well I feel like LS is a very complex drama with complex characters, mostly. and I love the characters in fact, especially Airu, Kei and Ojiro, airu is definitely one of most well written female characters in dramas. There should be more like her! Though i dont agree with every point the writers have tried to make so far in the drama, I do find their views interesting and I feel like as a drama LS still has alot more to say and more surprises in store. and if all that's not a good enough reason to watch then I'll say matsuda shota is insanely sexy in this and I dont think you need a better reason than that to watch. seriously, dude is HOT. *__*

Voice (eps 1-5): LF basically gave me a huge eita crush and I so wanted to reach into the screen many times and just give takeru a huge hug. unfortunately he'd probably have run screaming into the night if i did that .__. but anyway! I'm really enjoying this drama so far and it's not helping my eita crush at all. Eita's chara in this is sooo hilariously nerdy and goofy, i love it! and his scenes with toma and ishihara satomi are probably the best things about this drama. That being said, I think if I drop any dramas this season it will be this one. Basically, I LOVE the cast, they have great chemistry together. ALL of them and none of the characters feel unnecessary or pointless. I do wish the female student didnt get saddled with the "straight laced by the book always serious" personality that girls usually get stuck with in these ensemble type dramas but eh, what can you do? So far it hasn't ruined the drama for me so it's not a big issue. However, the only thing I feel like voice has going for it is the cast and character interactions. That's it. The forensic cases, which eat up the largest part of the drama's run time, are 1. wildly unrealistic and unrepresentative of actual forensics and 2. they are (to me) fairly dull. I seriously find them boring and end up fast forwarding through most of the case "investigation" scenes. I really wish they had used this cast for a less boring subject. Seriously i feel like this dramas is totally wasting it's cast and not utilizing it's full potential. I feel like had this been a drama about lawyers, young detectives, the police force, college life, hell cooking! near anything else really, that this would be a much much more interesting drama all around. Just seems like a shame :( ah well, I never cared much for medical dramas anyway (even if the medical aspect this time is heavily toned down) so maybe that's why I dislike the premise so much. Not that it's not an interesting one by itself but execution is...not so great.

I was also watching HYD K for a while but I only got as far as ep 12 before I started to lose interest. I think actually made farther into the tw drama, despite my not liking it very much. but jan di's wussification was becoming too much for me and honestly i think i've grown out of that story ages ago but i still feel like checking it out everytime a drama is made out of hyd. but i think I'm finally at my highest saturation point, as far as hyd adaptations go. I might still finish the drama though, because lee min ho and joon hyung are too yummy <3 (and who ever plays woobin <3) I like yi yung really but am I the only one in bof fandom who is w/e about kim bum? srsly i dont get the hype. but then i was like that for a while about matsuda shota too. suffice to say, love shuffle changed my mind. XD

Feel free to discuss dramas with me in the comments too guys! I've seen alot of interesting mixed feelings from my flist about this drama season so I'm looking forward to hearing other's opinions ^_^

Uta no onii-san is so cute! I've been watching it raw since the start and I'm pretty sure I understand like 80% of it. XD I love Maru in it <3 I'm glad he got a chance to star in a drama because he's really an amazing actor and I know he wanted to act. I can't wiat for this week's episode which is a Maru centered one where we can get angsty!Mamoru *_* Thankfully his character isn't just the happy go lucky type, so people can see how good of an actor Maru really is. :D

see the thing is I bet if I tried I could follow it fine but I hate watching dramas without subs not cause I'll be totally lost but because it's SUCH a hassle. if I was fluent 100% it'd be no problem but in order to catch everything i'd have to focus REAL hard and would probably still miss would quite a bit -_- even if i could follow it fine the experience would be diluted for me. cause i wont get every little thing till the subs come out but by then if i watched the raws, most of the story will already be known to me so it's like why bother? but then i'll always be wondering what i missed and watching the raws is such a headache cause of that .__. so i usually opt for subs. but hey desperate times call for desperate measures. if this keeps up i'll just watch the raws only.

Yeah so happy his chara isnt just there for comic relief or to be the idiot or just happy ALL the time. so he can really show his depth and range as an actor <3 i really feel like watching jitensha shouneki again lately cause gah i wanna see srs maru again *__*

not so much this season's dramas, but like. in the past year, what are your top 5?

Date: 2009-02-25 03:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sisterjune.livejournal.com
hmmm ever? well not including kdramas then it would be (oh sorry you said in the past year. crap ;_; i actually really have poor memory over what the year's dramas were >__>)

This is a little over five and in a rather loose order, hope it's ok ^^;

Koshonin
Utahime
IWGP
Tiger & Dragon
Akihabara@Deep
LIFE
Long Love Letter
Kimi wa petto (it's not an especially great drama but i have a strong attachment to it. i think i've watched it like 4 times by now XD)
Engine (again not especially great but it managed to move my black heart lol)

I have plenty of others I really liked but those would be my top favorites I think. Like dramas I would actually rewatch more than once. though i've actually seen kimi wa petto the most....XD If zeni geba keeps up the awesome it might just make it on this list too

I haven't seen any of KHYD, but judging how people on my f-list have (mostly favorably) been talking about it, it sounds like it starts fun and then heads into melodrama-ville. I've seen the other two drama versions, but after attempting to read the manga, I realized that I liked the actors in the jdrama version and how they did the characters, but actually don't care for the story at all.

Yeah that's k-hyd. I'm still watching it, but like very casually. I'm not as into the story now. I knew this would happen though cause I actually never liked the story taht much. and YET i read the whole manga as a teen. I was 15 when I read it. I actually started reading ti before it ended and i hated the ending and hated how much shit doumyoji got away with and tsukushi put up with and all the convoluted nonsense that happened in between. it's like, how many rich guys will fall for one random plain girl? I know tsukushi had a great personality and all but shoot she's not the only spunky poor girl in Japan.

Anyway, the jdrama was much more fun and I think it saved itself from getting too annoying like the k and tw versions to me cause it was just SO short. i cant say the same for the second series of hyd, but it had some nice moments. the movie though was..baaaad, i got like 10 minutes in and then couldn't continue -_-

What I don't get is that "she hits him and he falls in love with her." I can get "she hits him and that separates her from the herd so that he CAN fall in love with her," but that's a very different thing.

I tried reading the manga I think last year, and I hated it and every member of F4. And it drives me crazy how I see people talking about Tsukushi putting him through too much and stringing him along and all.

Date: 2009-02-25 03:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sisterjune.livejournal.com
I think the point was that she hits him and that makes her "spunky" and he falls in love with her toughness. except that she pretty much loses that character by the 2nd volume and becomes a typical shoujo heroine and tsukushi's toughness is just brought out again randomly when it's to further a plot point. same with how their constant arguing is meant to be cute. i can see squabbling couples as cute sometimes but the constant arguing on top of all the shit that doumyoji's mom made tsukushi go through on top of the crap he pulled on her himself made me wonder WHY in the world she stuck with him at all. it's like, is she just a huge masochist? Honestly at the time i read it five years ago I was a HUGE manga fan so that's why i stuck it out but oh man i tore out my hair so many times reading it. so vexing, and sadly this was before i found there was a whole GENRE of shoujo with abusive male love interests. hell doumyoji is a gentlman compared to some of them. yikes

the thing about blaming tsukushi but not doumyoji is so typical in these fandoms it's sad. but honestly after LF last year, with so many fangirls sympathizing with the abusive rapist sousuke and condemning michiru....well let's say nothing surprises me anymore now.

LF?

And yeah, that's a problem I have with the series, and a large part of why I can't see it as "feminist." And fandom and women in pairings...ugh. 90% of them deserve far better than they get. I mean, half the time, I only accept/like a pairing because, even though she could do much better, I'm convinced that he'll do his best.

Date: 2009-02-25 05:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sisterjune.livejournal.com
Last friends, a jdrama from last year.

I dont get how anyone can call HYD "feminist" having a spunky heroine who actually speaks up for herself now and then isnt feminist it's normal! cause i mean when people say that it somehow suggest to me that the default is a woman who is a total pushover and in which case, whyyyyyy? feminist to me would be like koshonin. though i'm sure that wasnt it's express purpose but I could definitely call that drama feminist.
Yeah that's my problem with alot of romance centered mangas, books, dramas, shows you name it. cause inevitably my mind always thinks "what DOES she see in him?" or "She could do SO MUCH better" and i cant root for the couple at all :( sometimes though I feel bad for the guy getting saddled with such an obnoxious woman. that's more common in western media though than in most asian dramas/comics i can think of. though I would mention jack from lost being the case of why the hell should kate have to be stuck with his ass. she's far from perfect herself but...blech

Date: 2009-02-25 05:13 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com
Oh, ugh. A large part of why I couldn't stick with Lost was that the "wrong" choice for Kate was the guy who respected her and treated her as an equal (though their interactions were also problematic) and the "right" choice constantly judged her and looked down on her when she didn't meet strict standards.

I wish people would get that a good heroine or a female centric story doesn't automatically make something feminist. Basara? Is feminist. HYD? Is not. Damo is my favorite drama ever, but it never quite reaches the point of being something I'd call feminist. Borderline, though. Ditto for Lovers and Fantasy Couple, my favorite modern kdramas. OTOH, I'd probably call Hwang Jin Yi I'd call feminist.

And I kind of hated LF from the descriptions, even though

Date: 2009-02-25 06:12 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sisterjune.livejournal.com
Oh Ditto completely. I stopped watching by S3 but I kept some tabs on it for a while after and was totally grossed out at how Jack was considered the better guy somehow, what cause he doesnt have a shady past? I mean in real life dating some guy like sawyer may not be the best choice but stuck on an island and your only other choices are either jack, creepy locke or a bunch of other already taken guys then hell yeah i'd pick sawyer. cause he did show kate way more respect even if he wasnt mr stand up guy himself. it's part of why i always preferred those two over jack/kate. in general i disliked jack though. although that one bit about sawyer being liked kate's dad? pretty creepy.

Exactly, that's exactly how i feel. cause then otherwise "the devil wears prada" is a feminist story and..just..NO. I so need to see damo, it's on my kdramas to watch list. I've never seen the film hwang jin yi but I might check it out, i do love a good historical film. I wonder if the elizabeth films can be considered feminist in a way.

if you only read the descriptions then consider yourself lucky because...seriously -_- the word infuriating would some up that drama pretty well i think. unless your a 14 yr old delusional ryo fan.

Oh man. Devil Wears Prada made me mad. Spiffy clothes and I love Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep and all, but it made me mad that there was something WRONG with her wanting to change and expand her horizons. I mean, she was just fine and didn't NEED to change, but it's like it was bad for her to be successful and ambitious and she had to stay EXACTLY the way her boyfriend wanted her to be, or she was "losing herself." IMO, the best ending would have been for her to walk away from BOTH lives.

ETA: Oh, and I haven't seen the Hwang Jini movie yet, just the television series. I haven't seen the first Elizabeth movie, but I think The Golden Age might count.

Agreed. In general I cant stand chick lit movies anyway. they just, I cant relate with them at all honestly. :/ I thought the film was a waste fo the glorious meryl streep. She is part of my holy trinity of glorious actresses which includes cate blanchett, kate winslet and meryl. katheren hepburn would be in it if she was still alive but she's there in spirit.

I saw the first film and not the others since I saw the first one network tv.
It was a pretty strong and striking portrait of elizabeth, so I'd say it's pretty close to being feminist.

I agree, I'm watching a record number of dramas too. Even the ones I'm not too particular on I'll still complete. You know STORMY has up to episode 5 of UtaOnii released on their comm and on torrents too.

Wow. Zeni Genba and Love Shuffle sound really amazing :O I've been somewhat interested in them but didn't actually start watching them. But I think I will now. And I'm glad I didn't listen to you and pick up K-HYD then lol I would be so annoyed at having it descend into that. -_-

I was saying the other day to mari that there is NO WAY that another group in arashi fandom isnt subbing and more consistently. no wonder the soft subs are so behind too. hey do you have a link to the stormy subs? also are they all for forum members only? cause if that's the case I might just ask one of my buddies to get it for me. i dunno if you're on the forum but i know someone who is.. gaaah i so wanna see ep 4 and 5 ;_;

THEY ARE REALLY AMAZING. well at the time I recced hyd k to you i loved it and it was liek 8 episodes ago LOL. it's still watchable though i just lose interest easily

Well I dunno about the Aibaland forum, but it's easy for the lj comm. The only difference is that the lj comm has only MU links [excluding YamaTaro and Haikei] and Aibaland has MF links.

Yeah it's like there's something missing when I'm not watching or anticipating the release of a new episode. Maybe that's why I felt so damn restless last season; there wasn't anything worth watching.

Hahahs i was actually trying to watch EVERY drama this season but dont think will be able to go through it, still havent watch first episode of Zeni Geba :| but yeah in uta no oniisan the character urara is lololol and the himuro is lololol too. but still morals of the day makes me go all :|||

Love shuffle is a pretty cool drama, but then i realized youre not watching Triangle? T___T

Want to watch KHYD actually but i'm too used with 10-11 eps jdrama so i dunno if i can watch it until the end even if it's interesting.

I SO cannot do that and Idont know how people can! I barely have the patience to follow more than 2-3 dramas usually. Though this time I stretched myself and I'm watching like...five XD
no triangle for me, premise didnt interest me at all. and I feel content with what i have on my plate already. I LOVE urara and you SO NEED to watch zeni geba, i'm shocked at how few people have even tried it out so far! I'm worried this is gonna be another one of those dramas where no one loves it as much as I do XD

Well kdramas are LONG but in some cases the story is so interesting you can stick it out. My first kdrama was goong and it definitely dragged in some places but he story was really fascinating. the rule with most kdramas is the beginning is usually good and near the end is where things start to really heat up. but it's always these handful of eps in the middle that can feel like they are dragging. HYD has alot of problems with it but dragging is notone of them. since there is SO much that happens in each ep. so i dont think boredom will be an issue. rather it might be that horrendous soundtrack that drives you away -_-

Unfortunately this season I don't think I can watch Zeni Geba, simply because I'm watching everything else practically XD

I SO did not make the connection that it was "Say it ain't so Joe". Don't know why. Because the way they said it in Japanese was "say it wasn't a lie Joe" right? LOL *fail*

I thought Utaoni subs came up pretty quickly, considering the show airs on Fridays and they get up subs pretty soon after that don't they?

I guess I like forensics procedures (blame it on my degree) so seeing how they figure out the story along with them is pretty interesting to me. Although I do agree with some viewers that it can get formulaic at times and I wish they drew a major twist in or something to shake things up.

I think I OD'ed on HYD, judging from the fact that I STILL haven't seen the full movie yet, and I'm the type to persevere if it was something like HYD even if the movie wasn't that great.

I think though that this is an all around pretty solid season, and I'm so glad that this season I've seen the most simultaneously in one season and am STILL following them, considering I watched nothing last season XD Well I tried a couple of eps of RnK but I keep forgetting that I did see them...

AWWW it's such a loss really. that drama is great. if next season is too barren in stuff you want to see maybe you can check it out ;)? I know I am so taking a jdramas break next season and watching some kdramas instead.

I actually had no idea stormy was updating it regularly! They are up to ep five but the ones i was looking at were STILL at episode 3 for a 3rd consecutive week now. which is why I was like annoyed at how lonog it was taking, so now I dled ep 4-5 by stormy and will be keeping an eye out for their ep 6 subs :D

Yeah I find them dull, I do like science, like galileo was fascinating, even though I didnt care too much for shibasaki kou's cop or fukuhara's typical sciencey dude chara i did like them alright but like what kept me engrossed in that drama was the fascinating mysteries and science experiments involved. I felt like i was learning while watching! Voice however has none of that, the mystery in ep five actually WAS more interesting to me than any of the others had been so far but it was STILL not even half as interesting as a single ep of tantei galileo. and it's a shame cause their cast is so great! but there is so much focus on talking to the family's of the deceased and making these "moving speeches" about life and all that. and it's just kind of totally annoying. worse, it's boring! and becoming too formulaic. I seriously wouldnt watch if I didnt enjoy the cast interactions so much.

I'm surprised I havent OD'ed on hyd stuff yet. Though I do think i'm getting there. but srsly i think no one believes me anymore when I say i didnt like the story XD IT'S NOT A LIEEEEE
alot of people were w/e over RnK but i really loved it, i feel ike i was the only one though XD i cant even remember anything else from last season though. i know i tried to watch bloody money but only got as far as ep 5 before i was like screw this. and was osen last season or the one before? cause yeah i didnt finish it either.

Zenigeba, UtaOni, VOICE, Love Shuffle, QED, and Mei-chan are my favourites this season. Oh, man, Zenigeba seven was awesome. MatsuKen's acting is amazing.

I love the odd references in Love Shuffle. XD ♥ The twist in the last episode still has me lol'ing and dying to see what happens next.

And I'm a sap, and most of the VOICE episodes make me cry (especially episode seven, oh man ;-;). From the preview, it looks like episode eight will make me cry again too. XD

It's so nice seeing Maru every week on UtaOni. He's really doing well, and I can't wait for Mamoru's episode this Friday. ♥

I'm so glad i'm not the only one watching zeni geba and liking it XD and gaaaah I so cant wait to see what happens in ep 7, normally I'd say spoil me but for this drama I really want to stay surprised. however if you see ep 7 of love shuffle before me, then feel free to tell all! XD

I know arent they so random? XD i really wonder where why they chose earth wind and fire songs for the theme XD oh but they must be big baseball fans to have known the say it aint so joe thing.

I'm a heartless thing cause I never cry. or even get teary. I did feel a bit moved with that guy who died trying to make his wife french toast thing. cause died so pitifully. the rest i was kind of "ho hum" over. *feels bad*
all I can say to your last sentence is YES <3 and I'm soooo excited fror ep six. even though i havent seen ep 4 yet XD

I'm watching Akai Ito (dead serious drama and the last episode is this coming Saturday) and I just watched the first episode of Mei-chan last night While it's a ridiculous drama, watching Sato Takeru in a romantic comedy makes me giggle. I also have a student named Sato Takeru, but he looks nothing like the actor. *sigh* I want to watch UtaOni, but I haven't been able to make time for it. It's actually a breath of fresh air not watching a Johnnys drama this season, I admit.
Thought about watching Voice and Love Shuffle, but may watch those another time unless I just happen to tune into them.

ohhh another friend of mine is watching it. I just dont care for the pure love dramas, it's not my thing.
I can see how being away from johnny's is a breath of fresh air, i'm really thrilled about the fact that zeni geba and love shuffle are effectively johnny's free XD You should totally at least try to check out rabu sha! lol and uta onii, maru <333

i fell behind on uta-onii 'cos the subs were so slow, but i loved the first 2 episode. somehow i have a soft spot for dramas with kids. and of course, i ♥ maru. the plot's fresh and funny too.
i'm sorry i can't comment on the next three, haven't watched them. i'll try voice, some time.
as for hydkorea, i'm sticking it out for lee min ho and goo hye sun. the increasing ratings are reinforcing the bad points of the drama though. i wish i could write in korean and give the production crew constructive feedback but ah well, hopefully things get better.
i don't get all the hype about kim bum either. sure, he's cute and all but i ♥ woo bin (actor: kim joon) a lot more.
thank you for sharing your opinions dear, it was a nice read :)
