Oh baby baby it's a wild world. I'll always remember you, like a child girl.

True blood 08 - OMG THIS EPISODE WAS 2938389 SHADES OF KICASS AND AWESOME.

1 - RAMBO!JASON. WOOO. I love how he suddenly gets SRS BZNS when people insult his sister or he finds out she's in trouble. it's very cool. and also he took out newline with A PAINTBALL GUN. Seriously after ep 8 Jason became 20982x more endearing to me. I mean before I just found him kind of a joke though I never disliked him. He's hysterical
2- The "trust me" scene with Eric and Sookie? HOT. I was ambivalent about them getting together before that point but now, hell yeah I ship it! (but it's really not the end of the world if they dont become the show's OTP/end game couple. cause honestly there's more to true blood than who is fucking sookie ok people.)
3. POOR SAM. wtf he can never get a break :(
4. I LOVED the horror aspect of this show. I cannot stress this enough. Daphe in the freezer? sauteing her heart and then PUTTING IT IN A SOUFFLE AND FEEDING IT TO EGGS AND TARA? WTFFFF. but so so great. I was like UWAAAAAAAH. the whole time.
5. Eric at the beginning with the dorky southern accent! I LOLed. I LOVE when skarsgaard gets to be quirky or sardonic, he's SO good at it. I LOVED watching him taunt bill. I really want him to kick bill's ass one day. I'm counting down to the point where bill FINALLY pisses off Sookie and Eric takes advantage of it like woah.
This reminds me of this awesome pic where he is making ridiculous faces and anna paquin and stephan moyer are staring at him with WTF? faces. God I loved that, he is too cool for them both srsly.
6. GODRIC. YOU ARE A SEXY MOFO OK? I loved how Godric was the "dumbledore of vampires" (to quote one lj user) he was all tiny and wise. I loved it, the actor they got to play him is hella cute. I hate how much the make up on this show washes out the vampire people. I mean it's really ugly and also clearly not used on everyone since faux cowboy vampire didnt look sickly pale the way moyer, eric and godric do.
7. Lafayette does tarot! I didnt think it was possible but I like him even MORE now.
8. Jessica and hoyt fucking! YAY. Not so yay about Jessica being an eternal virgin now :(
9. LOL Lorena vs Sookie bitchfight! I SO WANTED TO SEE THAT HAPPEN. I am immature I know :( But I love some chaos and discord. Lorena was just embarrassing to watch, in fact both of them were but it was pretty funny I cant lie. I'm just sad there was no Pam :(
10. GAH I LOVE THIS SHOW. I liked the eps before this but I LOVED this one and I'm so glad the season is really getting into gear now.

Also I swear if I hear one more person complaining that the show is not being "accurate" to the book I will CUT A BITCH. Book and TV are totally different mediums people need to wake the fuck up and realize that changes WILL BE MADE. Shit that works in books is not always going to work in film media, these are the facts. Now people can either accept this or stop watching the show and leave the rest of us who DO like it alone. GAD.

Also some brief blabbery about skins which I will expound upon in a later post:
I saw both S1 and S3 so far. and I really prefer the first generation cast. I just felt like they were more developed, more real, their struggles and drama felt more organic rather than manufactured, the writing felt more thought through, character's actions make more sense and in general it just had more emotional impact on me. Plus I loved how they were all friends despite being a diverse group of people.

S3 with the new cast feels more like a trendy teen drama, like it could be any teen show, not skins. Skins was gritty and real and also very surreal at times in fact and had that indie vibe to it. but S3 definitely feels more conventional and there is this annoying love triangle in it that is really the core problem of S3. Cause I did love alot of the characters. I mean wtf love triangle? It's one of the oldest most obnoxious teen drama and soap opera tropes in the book. WHY use it? They could have achieved alot of the same amounts of drama and tension without it.
Anyway, the second generation isnt bad though, s3 cast is likable enough. I just wish they had the same amount of depth, character growth and focus on familial struggles as the first cast did ya know? There's so much drama about this love triangle which to me doesnt make sense. Also the ties of friendship feel very cheap and frail in this drama for pretty much up until the very end, then things get a bit better. I dont know it feels like they are speaking to a younger audience with the S3. and I really didnt hate it but it just could have been SO much better. and after the perfection of S1. I expected more. S3 does have it's high points though and I wanna go more in depth about S3 and S1 in another post cause I could really write several posts about Skins.

I don't mind a lot of the changes, but there are somethings I wish they would get rid of...like mary-ann's on going role. It needs to be rapped up now. But there are some key things that happen in future books that really need to be put into the show, but I'm sure they will.

Love triangle aside, the S3 characters really didn't seem real at all. I couldn't care what happened to them. And there's only one more series to fill them out, cause series 5 is gonna have a brand new cast again. Assuming they get that far that is.

I have no interest in reading the books. I'll bet they're lame anyway. The show is so great because of Alan Ball.

Skins has become this cult show in England and I definitely think that S3 was a bit forced. But I still enjoyed it. I thought half of the actors were horrible though, but some of the episodes were way more 'fun' in this series.

I watched the first episode of season 3 when it aired on BBC America last week since I've seen people raving about Skins all over the place. I really didn't like it. I thought it was incredibly dull. Maybe I'll check out the first season when I get a chance.

True Blood was AWESOME. Jason was fantastic the entire episode (Hugging Bill! XD)

I finally found myself enjoying Eric's character. I've liked him just fine up until this point, but didn't get the ginormous amount of hype. But, he was pretty cool. I loved the fake accent.

I feel like True Blood would move much faster and be alot better if they had an 8-13 episode count like UK shows do.

There are only 12 episodes in a season, so there's only four left.

Oh. the first series of Skins is in a whole other league to S3. I loved the slightly absurd, surreal, and sometimes very dark elements of the first series, because it just set it apart from other teen shows, whereas series 3 feels exactly like all of those other teen shows, mainly due to the triangle. I have always loved the character of Effy, so to see her have to make a decision between bland, passive-aggressive Freddie and Cook, who IMHO are both not worth her time, was incredibly disappointing to start of with. And then the show became all about that decision, and it's just not the show I fell in love with in series 1 and stuck with throughout the less-than-stellar episodes of series 2, just because I loved the characters so much.

There is also the fact that the first generation had such a great sense of friendship that the second generation didn't even come close to achieving. It's not like S3 was inherently bad, I still watched it and there were some characters I came to love (like JJ, Katie (for the lols), and Naomi), but I don;t know, I guess I feel more embarrassed about liking it now.

Although, James Fitch is made of complete and utter awesome.
