Devil's waltz didnt appeal to me cause the plot was just so typical and conventional. I'm sure her bad boy hero was alot more bad and thus more interesting than the typical rake hero but I was just so over that whole trope. I also dont think her Ice series is particularly good. Ice Storm was good and Ice Blue and Fire and Ice do have that rare thing in the romance genre: a non white hero, in these cases both heroes are asian (japanese to be exact) and generally good guys. Much less ambiguous than some of Stuart's other heroes who are down right creepy. The first two ice books are totally typical cliche ridden fair. The suspense plots are rather frail and the plotting is flimsy and uneven at best. The romance aspect in both cases is very mediocre. The latter 3 books "Ice Blue, Ice Storm, Fire and Ice" have some of the same problems but they dont suffer as much however, because they have the added benefit of novelty. For instance Ice Blue has a very unintentionally hilarious scene that involves ambush via ninjas at a noodle restaurant. You can say alot of things about a scene like that but boring and predictable is not one of them. It is however very silly so it's up to you whether that's a deal breaker or not. For me it was. I dont mind silly crazy scenes so long as they are on PURPOSE otherwise it's bad form.

That being said Stuart really has some genuinely good stuff in her very large bibliography so, dont let me discourage you from checking out more of her books! I do like her work it's just she can be very hit or miss for me.
