Just a short post this time.

-First of all I got my puzzle album in the mail today. I havent listened to it yet because I dont have a cd player on my little netbook but that's ok since I can just play it on the ancient sound system downstairs.
-Secondly the parents and two of my siblings will be gone to washington dc for the next couple of days, much to my delight of course. and it also means dad will buy me icecream before he leaves.
-Icecream <3
-I've decided I'm going to buy a region free dvd player, or rather have dad get it for me as a bday gift. I WILL be buying the Life on Mars dvds though, I did some currency counting and even if I import the dvds from amazon.co.uk it'd still be cheaper than buying the US versions. Plus a region free player means I can finally watch the 47 con dvd on my tv! I also really want to watch the drama "Clocking Off" but it's not available for free online or in the US so I was like oh what the hell i'll import it!
-I've come to the realization that I really REALLY like David Bowie songs.
-Ditto for Elton John and Eric clapton's defunct band Cream.
-I've been doing really well in school lately. I hope I can keep it up
-Way too much school work left for me to do still. college is really a killer D:
Looks like this unofficial hiatus will last longer still...

-I really want to change my Lj name. This has been a long time coming really. I picked this name out when I was 15 and still liked anime and played video games and believed I'd grow up to be some kind of amazing fiction writer one day. Obviously alot has changed since then, not just my interests but my personality too. I feel embarrassed by this childish name and I dont even remember why I chose the name anymore. I've pretty much renovated everything on my lj so far except my username. I really think it's time for a change for me.

Sabs! I was telling mari the other day that I owe you an apology and I wanted to tell you about my sudden bowie love! Because two shows I LOVE LOVE were named after his songs and used alot of his songs so the result was i ended up with quite an affection for his songs. now i actually know him as more than just "the cool old dude who was once a goblin king" hee. i did love labyrinth XD

songs of his I heard and loved so far are: star man, changes, ashes to ashes, life on mars, fame. oh and this music video of his i saw once called "i'm afraid of americans" which cracked me up cause it had trent reznor from nine inch nails chasing him around new york city XD. he did look scary! and I'll take the video spam thank you! I do love it when people pimp things at me. :D

So basically sabrina, i think you should check out life on mars and ashes to ashes. just the fact that they are named after bowie songs should be reason enough!

why an apology? it's great that you have sudden bowie love, i actually cant imagine anyone not loving him, really :D didnt know life on mars and ashes to ashes used lots of his songs! i'll go check them out when they appear on my cable tv ;p and yeah labyrinth was kind of amazing. with the bowie tight pants and all that ;p

lol trent reznor!! so you've listened to his 70s stuff already, that's good. it's my favorite era of his, actually, he was amazing during the 70s :D i recommend these two albums for a start ; ziggy stardust and hunky dory. i fell in love with hunky dory when i was like 13 or 14, it's a really good album. as for the video spam, check this out ; moonage daydream, he performed that in his last ziggy day. he was doing this character ziggy stardust and that was the last night he became ziggy :) around 1973. his voice is amazing live and i prefer it than the recordings. his improvisation is love, too :) it takes time to love bowie personally though, i used to think he's an ugly junkie but then i saw this, it was during the 80s (his voice was amazing during those years, his peak i think) and the banana suit and yellow hair, he looks gorgeous &hearts dont know about you though, maybe loving his songs are enough ;p i suppose you already watched starman? the clothes and everything, epic :D and because you love life on mars too, the video, look at his eyes, they're amaaaazing. his friend punched his right (i think it's the right one..) eye when he was still 16 or so and that made his eye looks like that XD it's unique though.

wonder where are his videos that have million views.. i think they disappeared, or youtube deleted them :| hope you're okay with interview spam too ;p one of my favorites, it was so cute and awkward. and he's an actor, always adorable with iggy pop &hearts, and he giggles at the word 'groin'. basically he's one of the most adorable person on earth, heehe.

Actually the apology wasnt for bowie, but for your thing for old dudes XD I was like omg so many of the guys I have a thing for now (on tv that is) are pushing forty or over forty. so then i was like oh man I owe sabs an apology now, cause I always make comments about you liking old dudes. so yes about that, sorry! I see the light now ;_; though i still like young guys too....consider me branching out. lol

seriously though when you have your week off we should chat cause I think you NEED to watch life on mars and ashes, it has old dudes, great music, fun crazy plotlines. it'll improve your life. lol. but i have links where you can watch em, no need to wait till the beeb decides to air them in indonesia, which might be never D:

OH GOD THERE IS A COMMUNITY? HORRIFYING. I dont have a thing for old dudes now dammit! I mean i've never had a crush on an older guy in my life. cause srsly it's creepy XD but on tv, hot older dudes? heck yes. but really I draw the line at fifty. I mean DAD is fifty. just...NO. personally I like older guys who have a youthful spirit. those are the best. they have the experience and worldliness factor AND the energy to keep up with you. A+ I say. lol

and this is so random but I swear I think I found the british equivalent of taichi from tokio and I'M KIND OF REALLY SCARED AND INTRIGUED ALL AT THE SAME TIME. mostly cause british version does car stunts *__*

dude you are in the wrong fandoms, I mean i've YET to meet a westerner who is like "ewww bowie" HE IS UNHATEABLE. and If you want shall I send you the LOM links first? life on mars that is. it's got a surreal element to it but at its heart it's a cop show. a 70's cop show. a REALLY AWESOME 70's cop show. although if that's not your thing you can jump right to ashes to ashes, which is the spin off and you dont need to have seen lom to enjoy it but it really does help you appreciate it more i think. A2a is a very different show though. still has cops and stuff but it's...well it's different. i dont wanna give away too much!

Yes, there's a community for that, thought it's a treasure I found in lj lol. I can see how creepy liking an older man in real life is (my friends mock me aaaall the time) especially when he's older than your dad.. but i cant help it D; lol they kinda scare me though, they're so mature and full of experiences and i'm so young and knows nothing xD agree with you about the energy to keep up with us. it's just sad if the man has no energy left when we're so energetic and youthful bhaha.

Gasp, who's that person?! Anything that has anything to do with Taichi must be great! *biased* well yes no westeners i found hate bowie, but the people in my country, they dont fancy him that much, my grandma thinks he looks kinda fugly lol. Well I think it's only daddy issues if you like older men exclusively and for certain reasons. rather than strictly personality or just preferring older guys.

ISNT HE JUST? I like him so much XD I've become such a big fan of his show lately. er one of his shows, that he hosts with his two other buddies jeremy clarkson (who is an ass but a really funny one and everyone is aware of his nastiness, including himself) and James may who is like so sweet and easy going so of course he gets mocked by clarkson and hammond alot. Top gear is such a fun show, it's a car show but it really reminds me of that v6 variety show "gakkou e ikou" like it has so many segments and crazy antics from the guys and grand adventures and funny jokes and it's gah so awesome. I spent most of last night watching top gear clips on youtube XD one of the best segments is when they make celebrities drive a regular car around a race track and then time them.

LOL! it is such an awesome song. I'm so glad i watched Lom if for no other reason than to discover all the beautiful retro songs!

see yellow brick road and rocket man and tiny dancer are all pretty much amazing songs. all also from like the 70's and 60's. i think those were his best eras, music wise. I also realized there was an error in my post and i made it sound like cream was elton's band! I meant to write eric clapton before that. ooops XD
