So what about them summer dramas eh?
So friends and fangirls, the summer season is upon us! and So with that here's what I will be considering for the summer season and also how I'm faring with the dramas from last spring so far.
So for spring, I dropped Hokaben and completed Zettai Kareshi and Last friends so far.
Last friends: I think the less I say the better. I dont want this to become a big angry ranting post. I think most of us who stuck with the drama till the end felt some level of disappointment and I know a few people who felt betrayed even by the ending. For me it was really like a slap in the face. and that's all say about LF now or ever again. I will say though Juri and Eita were amazing in this from start to finish and it was almost worth suffering through this drama to see them in it. Almost.
Zettai Kareshi: It started out with so much promise. It had a really strong start and I was so sure it would be enjoyable from beginning to end and wrap up itself nicely. Later in the season it started losing it's spark and I was beginning to worry for how it would end...and sure enough the ending was immensely disappointing. It did follow the drama's ending to an extent. but honestly I just found the whole thing a big waste in the end. I do know people who were moved by the end and didnt see it as bad so much as a bit shocking. I just saw it as a letdown and fairly predictable since as Maya Miki's chara said, you cant have a relationship with a ROBOT. I also still feel sad that nerdy scientist and hot bartending lady didnt hook up ;_;
So far I'm still watching Osen and Rookies. I just recently dled eps 6-7 for Rookies and 5-6 for Osen.
Osen: So far I am very much enjoying Osen and I dont really have many complaints about it at all. I just really love the character interactions and everyone is defined and distinct despite being support charas in uniform who could easily blend into the background and become nobodies but I distinctly remember every character and even the parts of their personality. I really love that one waitress who looks gaijin. she's kind of hotheaded which i find really cute. I hope she hooks with osamu's character before the end. Uchi is seriously A+++ in this drama. I dont care what anyone says IMO he's a way better actor than ryo was, is or ever will be. I love how Uchi's character becomes like a friend for Sen, it's clear that everyone kind of idol worhips her in a way except for Uchi's chara who sees her as a normal girl. It's very cute.
As for Rookies I'm having fun watching it. It's a very melodramatic drama but I appreciate it's heart. and also it's many scenes of Ichihara Hayato looking DEAD SEXY. I also find it hilarious that big bad Shinjo (shirota yuu's character) cries as often and randomly as a hormonal pregnant woman.
As for summer dramas I have my eye on. I'm going to definitly watch Maou and Yasuko to Kenji. I also really have my heart set on seeing Monster Parent but it not be subbed which sometimes isnt a big deal but with this kind of serious drama knowing everything that's going on is important. Also dramas I'm considering watching are: Cat Street (apparently from the lady who wrote HYD) Shibatora (koike teppei the chibi cop <3) Koizora (I HATED the movie but eh maybe the drama will be better?)
I actually watched episode 1 of Code blue cause it was already subbed and I have a morbid curiosity. I totally watched it just to make fun of it XD. Me and my friends had a field day making grey's anatomy referances and picking out funny nicknames for all the characters. Yamapi's known as McOshiri sensei XD. I might repost that convo if I decide to keep up with code blue. Which I probably wont, it was just very dull to me. It doesnt help that as a rule I dislike medical dramas. and I dislike yamapi even more. Somehow the combination hardly screams WINNAR to me.
Before I wrap up this post I would like take a moment to flail about my most recent Jdrama obsession. TIGER AND DRAGON!!!!! My god words cannot describe how much i adore this drama and I've decided rather than making this post any more obscenely long I'd rather just give it it's own post. BECAUSE YES IT IS THAT AWESOME. It also will give me a chance to flail about the newfound fascination i have with rakugo thanks to this show. as if I need more obscure geeky obsessions -_-*
Speaking of newfound obsessions. whoever told me capsule was a fucking awesome band deserves a pat on the back now because THEY ARE AN FUCKING AWESOME BAND er duo I dunno wtf they are but it's awesome. I love bizzaro retro/mod thing they have going. the songs delightfully surreal too. I'll be making another post for that as well. SO MANY GREAT SONGS EEE <3

On the other hand I saw Zettai Kareshi hoping the ending was good.... but, it's such a forced end, really >.>
I also still feel sad that nerdy scientist and hot bartending lady didnt hook up Ah! I thought I was the only one seeing something there xDDD

I hated Koizora too. I don't get when people say they cried their eyes out and why didn't she jump in the river and be with him forever?! and shit. The other guy was waaay better for her. The only time I felt sad was when he cried after they broke up. He was such a nice guy. ;_; He fixed her fucking family! Geex...

Zettai Kareshi I felt that it took to many time for Riko to finally like Niaito and when she did man we already were on the finale.
Also I agree qith you why the only 2 interesting characters didn't end on a relationship at the end? Aka the bartender and the scientist. I felt that Maya Miki was there for nothing an insult for her awesome comic skills.
Rookies is awesome so far I watched until peisode 7 I dunno if I will finish it but this was one of the mest cast ensembles of the season because there's now a lot of talents we didnt notived before like Sato Takeru.
LOL remember the names?
McOshiri Sensei, IzzieToda Sensei, MeriGaki Sensei and Kawaii-sou Megane-kun Sensei xDDDDD I think this dram it's either for people who likes medical dramas or have a spot for them or are interested in Yamapi if not I think is not worth watch it.
I can't wait for Cat Street. Obviously Maou and Yasuko to Kenji are a must.

Concerning Last Friends, since the beginning i had the feeling i had already seen Juri somewhere, i felt i so remembered her face...
And two days ago, PAAAAAAAAAAN!!!I understood!!!!
In fact, i totally didn't know her, but with her boyish haircut, she was the spitting image of Hotaru Akane - a porn actress - in a futanari movie she starred in:

Like u said, LF was a disappointment. They had all the themes that're worth discussing in depth and in the end, they just left it hanging becos the scriptwriters knew DV was the way to attract higher ratings. Rookies is melodramatic but I love all the pple acting in it, even the bit characters. Osen is a very pleasant drama actually, I like that it's light-hearted and doesn't try too hard. Hmm, as for Uchi being a better actor, I think it's really hard to compare considering how the roles given to Ryo hadn't been of a great variety at all.

ZK-the ending was vague.actually i wanted her to end up with soshi, but they have gone into more details.
Osen is ok, but i wanted a love story somewhere in there but don't think that gonna happen.
I was thiking of watching rookies, heard lots good stuff about it.

Oh man, I want to watch Tiger and Dragon! The Nagase and Okada combination must be amazing!!!!!! That's another drama I want to touch on before I leave!

i did! i did! *wants a pat on the back* XDD
i think you and pretty much everyone who's watched it has said how LF is a disappointment given the potential it had. it is a tiring drama to watch and a tiring drama to discuss. so that's that.
i was only attracted to ZK because of the cast but even before the drama started and just by reading the synopsis, i knew it wasn't my kind of drama. so the fact that it wasn't all that great wasn't surprising.
i'm only at ep3 for osen but i loove it already. the cast is cool, the wardrobe is gorgeous, the theme songs are amazing and there's foood! uchi's character in itself is likable so when uchi adds his own whiny personality to it, it makes it the more interesting. however, i don't know about him being the better actor. ryo's just not as lucky as uchi in terms of the roles they get. sousuke is a character people just don't like no matter who plays it.
and yes! to tiger & dragon. such a brilliant drama with a brilliant set of cast. nagase and okada are the few good actors out of JE. you know they'll make it big with or without JE behind them, that's how good they are.

I like watching Osen. OSEN. I enjoy the food. XD And I find Yocchan and Osen cute too. I mean in the 6th episode, awwww. I want them to develop some kind of relationship but I guess that's not going to happen.
I LIKED WATCHING TIGER AND DRAGON ARGH. Some episodes were just as touching. It's kind of awesome how Nagase's character actually incorporates things that happen in his life to the rakugo he's about to tell.
I'm trying out Rookies in the future. :D Maybe this weekend I'd watch a couple of episodes and see about it.
MY MSN SHUT OFF ITSELF. VERY NICE.
I'M SORRY I TOOK OFF. I WAS TYPING SOMETHING WHEN I LOGGED OUT AND I CAN'T LOG IN NOW. IDK WHY IT DOESN'T WANT ME TO.
